North Yorkshire care at home service in the running for three top awards

Since it started in Harrogate six years ago, Radfield Home Care has gone from strength to strength.

From a small firm offering highly professional, friendly care and companionship for clients in their own home, it’s grown in size and reputation. It has recently taken on its 60th member of staff, given all of them a pay rise to help attract and keep the top talent, and is a finalist in three categories at the Harrogate Business Awards. Radfield Home Care is definitely a company that is going places.

It has, says owner Matthew Nutting “been a hugely busy and rewarding period”.

Matthew said: “People come to us through word of mouth, talking about our reliability, the caring approach our staff members take and the quality of service. Of course, after six years, they also know we have longevity and are committed to serving our community too.

“We offer home care – from having someone to pop to the shops for you or to sit down with and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat, but also personal care and through to advanced dementia care. Recently we’ve expanded into live-in care which offers 24 hour round the clock care and support in your own home, and we have now also been running our highly successful day centre once a week in the heart of Harrogate. It’s led by our carers, and means that people are well looked after for five hours a day, with a two course hot meal, companionship and activities.

“This not only offers respite for families of our clients, but a real social aspect for service users and a regular catch up with people they get to know as friends. We’re hoping to expand this service to two days a week very soon.”

It’s not just services that have expanded recently, but the areas covered. Radfield Home Care is now available in Harrogate, Wetherby, Knaresborough, Ripon and Pateley Bridge. Radfield Home Care have also launched their sister branch in Ilkley, serving Otley, Skipton and North Leeds. 

Matthew says he is incredibly proud that the work put in by all of the team has resulted in them being shortlisted for three awards in the upcoming Harrogate Business Awards, in categories including rural business, health and wellbeing and business in the community, after the success of them winning employer of the year in 2022.
